Faced with supply problems, Toyota Vietnam recently gave a reason why the Hilux pickup model no longer appears in our country’s market.

Accordingly, Toyota Vietnam (TMV) has officially stopped distributing the Toyota Hilux pickup model imported from Thailand. According to TMV, the reason comes from the limited supply of Euro 5 fuel oil (especially in localities outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City), which can cause inconvenience during use, and the risk of causing problems. Technical problems if this vehicle model does not have the correct fuel type.

Currently in the car segment sold in the Vietnamese market, except for Toyota Hilux, names such as Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara or Isuzu D-max all have technical methods to meet emission standards. Euro 5 in accordance with regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

According to statistics from Vama, from the beginning of 2022 until now, only 10 Hilux cars have been delivered to users, most of which are models imported before January 1, 2022. In 2021, there will be 4,413 Hilux pickup models sold on the market, behind the Ford Ranger, with 15,650 vehicles sold.

Currently, Toyota Vietnam still has no specific plans on bringing Toyota Hilux back to Vietnam.
