What does Ferrari’s new super SUV have to compete with Lamborghini Urus when the price in Vietnam is about 40 billion?

The recently launched Ferrari Purosangue is the most expensive car in the super SUV segment, increasing the pressure on rival Lamborghini Urus, which is popular globally.

After a long time of anticipation, fans of the Italian prancing horse brand were satisfied when the automaker launched their first SUV model: Ferrari Purosangue. This car model is inspired by the Ferrari Roma, but the appearance is still very eye-catching.

Although it is considered Ferrari’s first SUV model, Purosangue actually has the design of a crossover with a rather modest height of 1,589 mm. The ground clearance of the Ferrari Purosangue is only 183 mm, which limits the vehicle’s off-road capabilities. In return, the car will operate more stably at high speeds.

Basically, the Ferrari Purosangue has an overall appearance that is not as aggressive as the Lamborghini Urus, but instead has soft design lines. The front bumper includes large air vents separated by a splitter. The light cluster is also carefully “hidden” inside this air cavity, but that does not affect the lighting ability. The LED strip positioned above comes with an air intake that increases cooling capacity for the V12 engine inside.

The car’s body with air intakes on the front wheel arches both increases aesthetics and improves the vehicle’s aerodynamics. Hidden door handles like the Ferrari Roma. The car is equipped with a set of 5-spoke single-spoke wheels with two-tone finishes, measuring 22 inches at the front and 23 inches at the rear, with prominent yellow brake shackles inside.

The rear of the Ferrari Purosangue is quite sporty thanks to the symmetrical dual exhaust system, with a simple diffuser similar to competitors in the super SUV segment. The rear light cluster consists of two horizontal LED strips in the style of the “elder” Roma. On both sides there are small air intakes.

Ferrari Purosangue has a wheelbase that is not too large in the segment, reaching 3,017 mm, but is still enough to compete with rivals such as Lamborghini Urus Performante (3,002 mm), Aston Martin DBX (3,060 mm) or Porsche Cayenne GT (2,895 mm)) is special, the doors of the rear seats open in a Rolls-Royce style.

The Italian prancing horse brand has tried to assert Ferrari Purosangue’s superiority over its competitors when equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine, 6.5L capacity. This engine block produces up to 715 horsepower and 716 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel drive system.

Ferrari says this SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 309 km/h. So, Purosangue still only on par with its Italian competitor, the Lamborghini Urus Performante, and slower than the Aston Martin DBX707 even though the British model has lower capacity.

For easy comparison, the two formidable opponents of the “Italian Prancing Horse” SUV model are the Lamborghini Urus Performante, which uses a powerful 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine with 657 horsepower and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3 ,3 seconds; The Aston Martin DBX707 still uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine but has a capacity of 697 horsepower and easily accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

However, the plus point for the Ferrari Purosangue is that the sound from the naturally aspirated V12 engine will be much more impressive than the twin-turbo V8 engine of its “compatriots” and competitors from the land of fog.

Purosangue is a very different Ferrari model and offers users a unique interior design. There’s no large central touchscreen – instead, both the driver and passenger get their own large display. The buttons are also touch-sensitive like most new Ferrari models.

More specifically, Ferrari also offers an interior that makes many players more excited thanks to the addition of sports seat options like a real supercar but still does not lose the comfort of an SUV. Customers can also choose a 4 or 5-seat configuration or carbon material for the cabin.

Ferrari has not revealed the price of the Purosangue, but it is expected that the starting price will be nearly 400,000 USD, significantly more expensive than most other super SUVs on the market such as Lamborghini Urus Performante (260,676 USD), Aston Martin DBX707 (232,000 USD). USD),…

Notably, if it returns to Vietnam, this will be an expensive SUV on par with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan because the V12 engine has a capacity of up to 6.5 liters. If the Ferrari Purosangue costs about 380,000 USD, when it returns to our country, completing the after-tax paperwork will be worth about 40 billion VND.
