Ford GT adds final special edition: will Qua Vu buy more to ‘have a couple’?

The final special edition of the Ford GT is limited to 20 units, and Qua Vu is the owner of one of these two American supercars in Vietnam.

The final special edition Ford GT has just been revealed to commemorate the American automaker’s 2016 victory at Le Mans. The Chinese car brand will begin distribution Ford GT LM Edition 2022 this fall, and production ends later this year. Compared to the regular GT, the special edition has a number of changes in both the exterior and interior.


Ford will finish each GT in Liquid Silver. Customers can opt for red or blue accents, as the Le Mans winning car was red and blue. These two colors are used on the car’s carbon fiber aerodynamic details such as the front bumper, side skirts, diffuser, mirror frame and engine cover frame.


Ford GT LM Edition 2022 is equipped with 20-inch carbon wheels, accented with red or blue inside. Ford will secure them to the car with titanium screws and paint the Brembo brake calipers with black lacquer. The remaining two details that make the car special are the 3D printed titanium exhaust system and the 3D printed titanium GT LM badge on the back.



Inside, the blue or red theme continues to adorn the carbon fiber driver’s seat covered in Alcantara material. Ebony leather and Alcantara appear on the dashboard. Changes are not applied to the powertrain as the 2022 Ford GT LM Edition still uses the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine for maximum power of 647 horsepower and maximum torque of 745 Nm, resulting in Combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car’s ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h is quite impressive in just 2.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 348 km/h.

Ford will end production of the GT in December. The current-generation supercar was introduced in 2015 before starting production in 2016. When production ends, Ford will produce a total of 1,350 GTs and 20 specials are included in that total. The new Ford GT LM Edition will be given priority to customers who currently own a GT.



In Vietnam, there are two giants who own supercar models Ford GT The current generation is Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu (first one) and Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon (second Heritage Edition). So if one of these two businessmen orders the special edition (in the priority category for customers who own a GT), the Vietnamese market will have up to three units. The after-tax value of both cars is expected to be about 60 billion.
