Toyota Veloz 2023 launched in Malaysia with a price of about 509 million VND

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has just launched the Toyota Veloz seven-seat MPV model in the Malaysian market priced at RM 95,000, equivalent to about 509 million VND.

Veloz is one of the car models built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform. The move to the new platform saw a change to the transverse engine front-wheel drive layout, compared to the previous Avanza’s RWD base.

Veloz has slightly larger exterior dimensions than Alza (Avanza in Malaysia), specifically 4,475 mm long and 1,750 mm wide, or 50 mm longer and 20 mm wider than Alza.

The main exterior difference on the Veloz in Malaysia compared to the Perodua Alza is the LED daytime running lights, a unique feature of the model. According to UMWT, the exterior includes self-leveling LED headlights with ‘follow-me-home’ feature, along with LED daytime running lights, the rear lights are configured specifically for the Malaysian market.

The rear of the Veloz has three-dimensional taillights, while the automatic folding outside mirrors also have foot lights (puddle lights) that turn on automatically. On the roof are low-profile roof rails, capable of carrying loads up to 75 kg.

Veloz is powered by an NR-VE inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 1,496 cc, producing 106 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, driving front wheels through a continuously variable transmission.

In the Malaysian market, Veloz is a set of 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, with 205/50 tires. The Veloz’s ground clearance is 205 mm to the center of the exhaust muffler or 190 mm to the suspension hardware. This figure is 30 mm higher than the Alza, with a ground clearance of 160 mm.

The interior of the Toyota Veloz is covered in leather. The seats in the cabin are mixed with two light and dark tones to create contrast with each other. Ambient lighting in the Veloz is located along the door panels and center console.

The car has a 9-inch infotainment screen that allows connection to smartphones via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; wired and wireless on both numbers. Wireless charging via Qi 2.4 wireless standard charging dock; Other mobile devices can be charged via three USB charging ports in the Veloz’s cabin. There are also two 12V power outlets, one of which is located near the window for the third row of seats.
