Ford recalls 382,000 vehicles in the US due to a blue screen error when reversing

Ford is recalling Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models manufactured between 2020 and 2023 and including the 2020 to 2022 Lincoln Corsair for a blue screen error when reversing.

The number of vehicles revealed in this recall is about 462,000 units worldwide, of which this number in the US market accounts for 382,000 units.

At the end of 2021, Ford received initial feedback from consumers about seeing a green screen instead of a rewinding image around the vehicle’s body. That’s why the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) contacted Ford.

Previously, because of this error, Ford had to conduct a recall. To verify the problem, Ford discussed with suppliers, until December 2022, the problem was simulated in the laboratory and on the vehicle.

From November 30, 2022 until now, according to information, the number of reports responding to the above incident has reached 2,115 cases. In addition, the number of accidents related to problems caused by the 360 camera not working stably according to statistics from Ford is not small, specifically 17 cases. Luckily, no one’s life was affected or injured. For vehicles subject to recall, the software will be updated for free to fix the error.
