4 registration units related to violations have been reopened

To relieve congestion at motor vehicle registration units and support people’s vehicle inspection needs. On January 16, 4 suspended registration units were reopened.

On January 12, 2023, the Ministry of Transport sent a document to the Ministry of Public Security asking for recommendations on clearing congestion at motor vehicle registration units and supporting people’s need for vehicle inspection. On January 16, 4 registration units were approved.

The Registry Department said that 4 registry units related to work violations, suspended in Ho Chi Minh City, will reopen from today. Specifically, the re-opened registration centers include Registration Center 50-03V (107 Phu Chau Street, Tam Binh Ward, Thu Duc City), Center 50-05V (1143/3B, National Highway 1A, An Ward). Phu Dong, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City), Center 50-07V (428/56 National Highway 1, Binh Hung Hoa B Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City), Central Branch 50-03V (Quarter 4, Truong Son, Linh Ward Trung, Thu Duc City).

In addition to conducting inspections and assessments, the Registry Department also mobilized 61 additional personnel (including registrars and professional staff) for the 4 registry units above. A representative of the Registry Department said he would work with Hanoi Police to reopen 2 registration centers in the city and 1 registration center in Hoa Binh province to address the needs of the people.

The reopening of suspended registration centers helps reduce vehicle inspection congestion and supports people’s essential registration needs, especially in the days leading up to Tet.

In case the vehicle owner does not register properly according to regulations, according to Decree 100/2019/ND-CP amended and supplemented in Decree 123/2021/ND-CP the error “Driving a vehicle with a Certificate of receipt or technical safety and environmental protection inspection stamp but has expired” (including trailers and semi-trailers):

  • Fine from 3,000,000 – 4,000,000 VND if registration is overdue by less than 01 month.
  • Fine from 4,000,000 – 6,000,000 VND if registration is overdue by 1 month or more.

In addition, vehicle drivers who violate the above violations will also have their driving license revoked from 01 month to 03 months; The vehicle may be impounded for no more than 7 days from the date of issuance of the administrative penalty decision.
