Suzuki stopped selling many motorbike models in the Vietnamese market, focusing on the car segment

Suzuki Vietnam has just stopped selling many motorbike lines in the domestic market. Discontinued models include GSX-S150, GSX-R150, Intruder 150 and Impulse 125 FI.

So at the present time, Suzuki Vietnam only sells motorbikes such as Raider R150, Satria F150, Burgman Street and the large displacement model V-Strom 250SX, which they just sold a while ago.

The Suzuki GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 “duo” in the 150cc segment were officially sold very soon in the domestic market, competing with the Yamaha YZF-R15 and Honda CBR150R. Even though they are highly appreciated for their durability, both models do not receive much love for their appearance from the majority of people who love sports cars.

The Suzuki Impulse 125 FI was introduced in Vietnam in 2014, positioned as a competitor to the Honda Air Blade or Yamaha Nouvo at that time, but had a selling price of only 33 million. Up to now, the Impulse 125 FI has not received many changes in both appearance and equipment, so the car’s appeal is also fading.

Finally, the Intruder 150 was just introduced by Suzuki Vietnam at the end of 2020, but the number of times I have seen this car appear on the road can be counted on the fingers of one hand. In general, Suzuki’s problem in Vietnam mainly lies in its unattractive vehicle design, making it difficult to compete with fellow automakers.

The fact that Suzuki Vietnam stopped producing a number of car models shows the clear direction of the Japanese car company when they decided to no longer focus strongly on the motorbike field. Currently, the manufacturer can focus all its efforts on the automobile sector, especially the light truck segment, which has brought a lot of profits over the past decades.
