Not yet launched in Vietnam, large SUV Kia Telluride is about to have a new version

At the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) 2022, the 2022 generation Kia Telluride will be introduced with many new features.

Although in 2021, at the Kia Carnival launch event, Thaco surprised everyone by displaying a series of cars that will be launched in the Vietnamese market, including the large SUV Kia Telluride expected to be launched in 2022. However, while it is not yet on sale, the Kia Telluride is preparing to have an upgraded version in the middle of its life cycle.

Expected at the 2022 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), Kia will launch the facelift version of the Telluride along with the new Hyundai Palisade. Before the opening, the company released the first images of this new version.

It can be judged that the mid-life upgraded version of the Kia Telluride will have a more square head with the characteristic tiger nose grille but will have new mesh grilles. In addition, the fog lights also have slight adjustments on both sides of the central air vent.

The interior of the 2023 Kia Telluride was also revealed with a dual screen integrated with a driving clock and a large central screen placed on the dashboard. This is also the company’s new design trend to help optimize space. The steering wheel will be 4-spoke, the horizontal air conditioning vents will stretch nearly across the width of the car, the door handles, and the center console will also be renewed. In addition, the car still retains the option of 7 or 8 seat configuration.

In terms of operation, there will likely be no significant changes. It is expected that the 2023 Kia Telluride will still be equipped with a 3.8L V6 engine with a capacity of 291 horsepower with the option of front-wheel drive or full-time 4-wheel drive. According to unconfirmed sources, this time the company will add an X-Pro version focusing on more off-road capabilities.

Currently, Kia Telluride will compete with rivals such as Ford Explorer, Hyundai Palisade, and other mid-sized SUVs and CUVs. If returning to Vietnam, Kia Telluride will have an estimated price ranging from 1.8 to 2 billion VND.
