Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV electric car launched, charging for 15 minutes can go 300km

As a strategic model in the SUV segment, Mercedes-Benz launched the EQS model earlier than other electric cars with the ability to operate 600km on a full charge.

The German car company has just introduced the pure electric car model Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV with two versions 450+ and 580 4Matic, this is also the top SUV line next to EQA, EQB and EQC.


Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV has an integrated design between the versatility of the traditional GLS and the modernity of the EQS electric sedan. The vehicle has an overall dimensions of length, width and height of 5,130 x 1,955 x 1,727 mm, respectively, with the largest wheelbase of 3,200 mm in the segment.

The EQS 450+ version will be equipped with dual screens including a 12.3-inch electronic driving clock and a 12.8-inch central screen, the EQS 580 4Matic version will have an ultra-wide curved screen up to 56 inches. In addition, this electric SUV model has up to 7 personal profile customizations activated by fingerprints, and the MBUX system has also added many new features.


The rear seats of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV can move 127 mm to expand legroom from 838 mm to 965 mm with an 11.6-inch entertainment screen and the option of adding a control tablet. The third row of seats is a limitation as there is no headrest due to the coupe design causing the rear roof to be swept down.


The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450+ is equipped with a PSM electric motor on the rear wheel axle, while the EQS 580 4Matic has up to 2 electric motors located on the front and rear wheel axles with Torque Shift traction control feature. According to the manufacturer, the car can operate up to 600 km on a single charge with a 15-minute quick charge feature to continue moving for an additional 300 km. In addition, when using DC power, the car can also charge from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes and 11 hours and 15 minutes if it is AC power.


Both versions of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV have Air Matic air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and 4 driving modes as standard equipment. In addition, users can upgrade other options such as lane keeping warning, blind spot warning, cross-traffic warning, Pre-Safe… Currently, the selling price of EQS SUV has not been disclosed. When sold, the car will compete with rivals such as BMW iX xDrive50 or Tesla Model X….
