The race for the B-sized SUV segment is becoming more and more exciting with many car models “entering” along with constantly changing customer tastes. The appearance of Toyota Yaris Cross is expected to stir up the B-size SUV segment in the second half of 2023.

According to information from dealers, the Yaris Cross launch time is around mid-September 2023 and will accept deposits from customers to prioritize early car deliveries. Positioning the Yaris Cross is above the Raize and below its elder brother, the Corolla Cross, the C-size SUV model that is currently the top seller in the urban high-riding vehicle segment.

According to sales consultants, the Toyota Yaris Cross distributed in Vietnam will be imported from Indonesia, similar to the A-size SUV Raize.

Regarding engines, dealers reported that the Toyota Yaris Cross will have two options: gasoline and hybrid. In Indonesia, regular versions of the Toyota Yaris Cross are equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine, 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque.

Front-wheel drive, CVT or 5-speed manual transmission. The hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5L engine with a capacity of 90 horsepower, maximum torque of 121 Nm, accompanied by an electric motor with a capacity of 79 horsepower, a torque of 141 Nm and a CVT gearbox.
