China is about to have a hybrid version of Honda Civic that can run 100km on less than 5 liters of gasoline

Previously, Honda teased the C-class Civic hybrid sedan at the Bangkok International Motor Show, but the specific parameters were still kept secret. Up to now, the parameters of the hybrid version have been leaked on a website in the Chinese market.


Specifically, the full name of this model is Honda Civic e:HEV with a hybrid powertrain including a naturally aspirated 2.0L Atkinson Cycle gasoline engine and 2 electric motors located on the front axle, accompanied by an automatic transmission. E-CVT and lithium-ion battery pack are located below the rear seat.

The above 2.0L gasoline engine produces a maximum capacity of 141 horsepower combined with an electric motor for a total performance of up to 184 horsepower with 315 Nm of maximum torque along with 3 other driving modes. together. According to the manufacturer, the Honda Civic e:HEV only consumes an average of about 4.39 – 4.51 liters of gasoline per 100 km of operation.


However, the Honda Civic e:HEV has an exterior design that seems to be no different from the regular version with an overall length, width and height corresponding to 4,674 mm x 1,802 mm x 1,141 mm and Wheelbase 2,735 mm. The car only has a few additional identifying features such as the blue H logo, the e:HEV logo on the rear trunk lid and the single exhaust pipe on the right. The car comes with optional 17 or 18 inch wheels.

The interior is not expected to be too different from the regular version but will have an additional interface or hybrid identification symbols. In addition, there will be a standard Honda Sensing safety technology package including automatic headlights, lane departure warning, lane departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, collision warning with accompanying cars/pedestrians. There is still no information about the selling price of this model in the Chinese market, but in Thailand the Honda Civic e:HEV has an converted selling price of about 782 to 863 million VND.
