Check out the series of new cars that will be introduced to the Vietnamese market in September 2023

Quiet purchasing power does not affect the plans to launch new products of companies in Vietnam. Typically, Toyota, Skoda, Mercedes-Benz will have new products introduced to Vietnamese customers for the first time.

Toyota Yaris Cross

On September 19, Toyota Vietnam will launch the B-size CUV model, Yaris Cross imported from Indonesia. This product competes with rivals such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Toyota Yaris Cross has two engine options, including 1.5L gasoline and hybrid combining 1.5L gasoline engine and electric motor. The company confirmed that the new Yaris Cross will have the TSS safety system and many amenities such as hands-free trunk opening, sunroof, wireless charging, electronic handbrake and automatic brake hold.

Skoda Karoq and Skoda Kodiaq

On September 23, business activities of the Czech Republic brand through partner Thanh Cong Group will begin. The first two car models to go on sale are the Karoq and Kodiaq.

Skoda Karoq is a C-sized CUV, competing in the segment with rivals such as Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson. Karoq sold in Vietnam is expected to have two versions: Ambition and Style, both equipped with a 1.4L turbocharged engine for 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. 8-speed automatic transmission.

Skoda’s second product, Kodiaq, is located in the D-size SUV segment, where there are competitors such as Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-8. Like the Karoq, the Skoda Kodiaq also has two versions, Ambition and Style, but the engine is not the same.

The Ambition version has the same engine as the Karoq, while the Style version uses a 2.0L turbocharged engine with 178 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

Mercedes EQB, EQE and EQS pure electric SUVs

Mercedes Vietnam will hold its own exhibition in the city. HCM is called The Avantgarde (taking place from September 23 – 26). Here, the company revealed three pure electric SUV models including EQB, EQE and EQS in Vietnam, in addition to the already sold EQS sedan.

Mercedes EQS SUV is the German company’s most advanced pure electric SUV (including the Maybach version). Customers can deposit a car from August 21 and receive the car within the month. The car price is 4,999 billion VND, imported from Germany.

EQS SUV installs a battery pack with a capacity of 108.4 kWh, giving a range of 513 – 616 km after each charge. With an 11 kW (3-phase) charger, the car takes more than 11 hours to fully charge the battery. The electric motor mounted on the front and rear axles produces a total capacity of 442 horsepower and 828 Nm of torque.

The second pure electric SUV is the Mercedes EQE. This is the electric version of the gasoline-powered GLE. This SUV model is fitted with a 90.56 kWh battery pack, giving a range of 462 – 549 km. Two electric motors on the front and rear axle of the EQE produce a total capacity of 402 horsepower and 858 Nm of torque. With an 11 kW (3-phase) charger, the car takes about 9.5 hours to fully charge the battery. The price of Mercedes EQE is 3,999 billion VND.

Mercedes EQB is the third pure electric SUV model introduced by the company at the exhibition. The car is fitted with a 66.5 kWh battery pack, giving a range of 422- 473 km. With an 11 kW (3-phase) charger, the car takes about 6.5 hours to fully charge the battery. EQB is a pure electric version of the 7-seat gasoline-powered GLB. The car is equipped with an electric motor on the front axle, with a capacity of 190 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque. The price of Mercedes EQB is 2,289 billion VND.
