Ford F-150 Raptor will have an R version using a V8 engine

The Ford F-150 R, the V8 engine version of the new generation F-150 Raptor, was caught during testing without any camouflage.

Recently, a test prototype of the Ford F-150 Raptor with a V8 engine under the hood was caught by paparazzi while testing on public streets. More importantly, this vehicle prototype was tested without any camouflage layer.

Through the available images, it can be seen that the F-150 R with a V8 engine will have a similar appearance to the version using a twin-turbo V6 engine. The difference will probably come from the 37-inch off-road tires and improved suspension system. Along with that, the interior screen as well as the interior leather upholstery will also be different.

Of course, the biggest difference between the R version and the regular version will still be Ford’s 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine called Predator. This engine has been used by this car brand on the Ford Shelby GT500 super muscle car model. On that model, the engine block delivers up to 760 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque. Allows the coupe weighing nearly 2 tons to accelerate to 100 km/h in just over 3 seconds.

The power level of the F-150 Raptor R is still a mystery, but it seems that the engine configuration will remain the same to produce similar numbers, especially when Ford directs this super pickup to its direct competitor, Ford. RAM 1500 TRX. The rival car model is also equipped with a supercharged V8 engine with a capacity of up to 702 horsepower and 882 Nm of torque.

Currently, the official information about this car model is still kept secret. The vehicle is expected to be launched this year and the F-150 Raptor will not be the only Raptor with the R code. In addition to this pickup model, the Ford Bronco Raptor SUV will also be equipped with an R version with an R engine. Same V8.
