The Kia Stinger sports car has a new version before being discontinued

Maybe in the near future Kia will stop selling the Stinger, but the company will still launch a special edition for the first sports car model of this Korean brand.

Kia Stinger was first launched in early 2017, this is also the first sports car of the Korean brand with the ambition to compete with brands such as BMW, Audi or Mercedes-Benz. But after about 5 years on the market, only 57,580 units were sold in the US.


Because of this, there have been many rumors about the death of this car model from 2021. Previously, the Kia Stinger also stopped distribution in the UK market. However, Kia has just launched a new version called Tribute Edition with a limited number of 1,000 cars globally and will be sold next year.


Kia Stinger Tribute Edition is developed based on the most advanced GT version with a twin-turbocharged 3.3L V6 engine configuration, thereby producing up to 368 horsepower, 510 Nm combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with This version will likely have a full-time 4-wheel drive configuration.


The Tribute Edition also has some tweaks such as the addition of Moonscape matte gray paint next to Ascot Green, details such as the rearview mirror, brake cluster, and 19-inch wheels are painted glossy black to create contrast.


The interior space of the Kia Stinger Tribute Edition has the main color brown – black, the seats and dashboard are made of Terracotta leather, while the steering wheel, dashboard, and armrests are mixed in black next to metal details such as rims. air conditioning vents, door handles and armrests on the door panel.


In addition, the center console and door taps are also covered with imitation carbon fiber to create a sporty look, and on the headrests of the front seats there is a wasp-shaped logo to create a highlight. Finally, the door sill on the driver’s seat is engraved with the factory serial number.

Of the 1,000 cars distributed, only 200 cars were sold in the Korean market with a converted price ranging from 893 million VND to 1.04 billion VND. And once sold out, the Kia Stinger production line will be transferred to assemble the new Carnival Hybrid.
