Nissan GT-R 2024 launches facelift version, sold in the US in the first quarter of 2023

It is expected that in 2024, Nissan will launch a number of upgraded versions for the Nissan GT-R. Since its launch in 2007 at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, this Japanese car model has been considered a symbol of sportiness. It is expected that this new version will not only be sold in the Japanese market in the summer of 2023 but will also be available in the US in the first quarter of 2023.

The new generation GT-R was just launched at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. The car will be updated with some styling innovations as well as some special editions.

First, the GT-R has quite a subtle change in the front grille, which is now smaller and no longer has the V-motion design. The lower bumper has also been streamlined to now feature boxy air intakes that also integrate vertical spoilers that visually extend into the main upper grille.

In addition, the hexagonal LED light cluster that forms the daytime running lights is also designed more simply without a black border around it. As for the rear, the signature circular taillights remain, but the trim around the exhaust pipes is new.

Nissan says it has managed to enhance the car’s aerodynamics by reshaping the rear spoiler and designing a thinner mesh to optimize the bumpers. The drag coefficient may not change at 0.26 but downforce, cooling system and drag reduction are all improved. While the new exterior is notable, the interior remains largely unchanged from before.

The Nissan GT-R will use a 3.8-liter VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 570 PS (562 horsepower) at 6,800 rpm and 637 Nm of torque from 3,300 to 5,800 rpm. This engine is still mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to all wheels via the ATTESA ET-S all-wheel drive system.

Other ride-related items include adaptive Bilstein dampers with three selectable modes (Normal, Comfort and R). In addition, the Nissan GT-R has 20-inch RAYS wheels, carbon ceramic brake discs and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 covers.

The Nismo version of the GT-R features a specially tuned VR38DETT that produces 600 PS (591 hp) at 6,800 rpm and 652 Nm of torque from 3,600 to 5,600 rpm. New for 2024 is a limited-slip front differential to further enhance the GT-R’s handling.

And of course there is no shortage of carbon fiber, this is a strong, light and very durable material, this material is used for the hood to lower the center of gravity as well as for the modified front and rear fascias. , trunk lid, side sills, bonnet and rearview mirror housings. Nissan notes that the rear spoiler, also made from carbon fiber, now has 10 percent more surface area and features swan-neck mounts.

The Nismo special edition features red accents for the 20-inch RAYS forged wheels and an exclusive color: Stealth Gray. Inside, the GT-R Nismo gets Recaro bucket seats with synthetic suede cushions, red stitching and a carbon fiber back, while the steering wheel is wrapped in Alcanatra and has a red stripe on top.

Another option returning for 2024 is the T-spec, which can be ordered in Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple, both signature colors of the GT-R. The T-spec comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes, Nismo-tuned vehicle dynamics control and wider front fenders. The special emblem is also applied outside and inside, the latter also featuring Mori Green upholstery combined with semi-aniline fabric and suede for the front seats.
