Gasoline prices suddenly increased, reaching a peak of more than 700 VND for a liter of fuel

From 3:00 p.m. on December 21, 2023, prices of gasoline and oil products will have price adjustments in different upward trends depending on the type of product.

According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Finance, in this adjustment period, each liter of E5 Ron 92 gasoline increased by 680 VND, while Ron 95 increased by 740 VND. Diesel and kerosene products are also regulated differently, specifically:

  • Ron 95 gasoline increased by 740 VND/liter, selling price no higher than 22,140 VND/liter
  • E5 Ron 92 gasoline increased by 680 VND/liter, selling price no more than 21,190 VND/liter
  • Diesel increased by 510 VND/liter, selling price no higher than 19,520 VND/liter
  • Kerosene increased by 530 VND/liter, selling price not higher than 20,490 VND/liter
  • Fuel oil increased by 290 VND/liter, selling price was not higher than 15,260 VND/kg

Thus, after 5 consecutive reductions, fuel prices have tended to increase again and at the same time, the inter-ministries continue not to make provisions for the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund and stop spending from this fund on gasoline products, oil, except for fuel oil, which has an allowance of 300 VND per kg

From the beginning of the year until now, gasoline prices have undergone 36 adjustments, including 18 increases, 14 decreases and 4 times remaining unchanged.
