Recently, Yamaha has just announced to the Vietnamese market the all-new Acruzo “wide trunk” scooter model, aimed directly at rival Honda LEAD with many similarities.

First launched in 2008, LEAD is Honda’s very successful scooter line, scoring points with female customers thanks to its large trunk. After 7 years, Honda LEAD is still “alone in the market”, only facing competition from the not very outstanding Suzuki UA 125T. In the first 6 months of 2015, Honda sold 99,339 LEAD units, finishing 6th on the ranking of 10 best-selling cars.

Compared to its compatriots, Yamaha is better known for its masculine models such as Exciter, Jupiter, or Nouvo. And the peak was YZF-R3 and NM-X recently. For the women’s scooter segment, they have had Nozza for a long time, but Grande is truly the highlight when it first applies the Blue Core fuel-efficient engine. Not stopping, recently (October 5), Yamaha launched a completely new Acruzo, filling the gap between Grande and Nozza, competing with rival Honda LEAD.

1. Appearance

In terms of overall size, both Yamaha Acruzo and Honda LEAD do not have too big of a difference. However, the Yamaha Acruzo has a slight advantage in terms of height 685mm (compared to 680mm), width 1,145mm (compared to 1,120mm), saddle height 785mm (compared to 760mm) and weight of only 99kg.

Meanwhile, the Honda LEAD has a better length of 1,832mm (compared to 1,805mm), a chassis height of 138mm (compared to 125mm) and a fuel tank capacity 0.5 liters larger than its competitor, at 6 liters. .

In addition, both scooters from Japan use the same wheel size, brake system and trunk capacity of 37 liters.

2. Engine

Yamaha Acruzo is equipped with a 125cc Blue Core engine, 4-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC, 2 valves, air-cooled, electronic fuel injection. Capacity of 8.3 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and torque of 9.7Nm at 5,000 rpm.

On Honda’s side, LEAD applies eSP smart engine technology. This engine integrates leading technologies such as PGM-FI electronic fuel injection, Idling-stop and starter – ACG, helping the Honda LEAD 125cc have 32% more engine power and save money. 30% more fuel than usual.

The vehicle has a capacity of 124.9cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, SOHC, 2 valves, liquid cooled, PGM-Fi electronic fuel injection. Capacity of 11.3 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and torque of 11.6Nm at 5,000 rpm.
